Ivona Miketa, our general manager, gave a presentation on “Bio-Mi – a small company in the forefront of sustainable solutions” as a guest lecturer at the „EFRI fourth careers week”, held in November 2021 as part of the Cesar project – Increasing Student Employability by improving the Career Center and Development of Professional Practice, carried out by the Faculty of Economics, University of Rijeka.

In addition to basic information about the company, students were introduced to research and marketing activities, active projects under Horizon 2020 programme, professional associations in which the company is a member. Moreover, they were presented a new profession that is in the phase of inclusion in the national classification framework, as well as circular model of economy and the “end of life” of our products.

We wanted to familiarize students, who watched the lecture online and live, with an environmental problem of the use of plastics today, and the need to attempt to reduce the traditional plastic from everyday life that has become a major polluter, but also to realize how they themselves today can change their consumer habits and be aware of the pollution we generate as a society and become bearers of a more sustainable future.

At the end of the lecture students had the opportunity to see various prototypes of different bioplastic products, but also commercially popular goods in the growing market of bio-products.
